Main Characters:
- Clark Kent / Superman (David Corenswet): The Man of Steel struggling to balance his Kryptonian heritage with his small-town Kansas values.
- Lois Lane (Rachel Brosnahan): The intrepid, sharp-witted Daily Planet reporter who is the heart of the story.
- Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult): A brilliant, chillingly grounded version of the iconic industrialist villain.
The Review:
When James Gunn announced he was taking the reins of the Last Son of Krypton, the industry held its breath. Could we really handle another origin—or rather, another “re-introduction”? The answer, as it turns out, was a resounding yes. Superman (2025) didn’t just save the DCU; it saved the concept of the “sincere” hero.
Corenswet brings a gentle, almost pastoral dignity to Clark that we haven’t seen since the Reeve era. But don’t let the kindness fool you—the scale of the action is immense. What I appreciated most was the visual language; the film uses a vibrant, primary-color palette that pops against the modern, sleek UI of Metropolis. It feels like a comic book brought to life without the gritty desaturation that plagued previous iterations. Brosnahan’s Lois Lane is the perfect foil—fast-talking, brave, and never just a “damsel.” This film reminded us why we look to the sky in the first place. It’s a beautifully macabre world out there, but this movie offered a much-needed light.
My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) – A soaring triumph for all ages.
